NASA’s Juno Spacecraft Has a Shut Stumble upon with Jupiter

A mess of swirling clouds in Jupiter’s dynamic North North Temperate Belt is captured on this symbol from NASA’s Juno spacecraft. Showing within the scene are a number of bright-white “pop-up” clouds in addition to an anticyclonic typhoon, referred to as a white oval.

This colour-enhanced symbol was once taken at four:58 p.m. EDT on Oct. 29, 2018, because the spacecraft carried out its 16th shut flyby of Jupiter. On the time, Juno was once about four,400 miles from the planet’s cloud tops, at a latitude of roughly 40 levels north.

Citizen scientists Gerald Eichstädt and Seán Doran created this symbol the use of information from the spacecraft’s JunoCam imager.
